I Like It Like That – A Gossip Girl Novel by Cecily von Ziegesar
I’ve always wondered what the Gossip Girl books are all about. Then, while browsing in eBay, I saw a couple of second-hand Gossip Girl books on sale. So, I bought I Like It Like That – A Gossip Girl Novel, and read it in two days. Well, guess what? The book sucks.
First of all, I can barely imagine any real teenagers behaving like the characters in this book. I mean, they are just so wild and have no self-respect. They respect neither themselves nor other people. And the girls take drugs, smoke incessantly, and sleep around with most boys they meet.
And the boys? They are just as bad as the girls. They also smoke pot, Marlboro cigarettes, and are just plain horny guys.
What kind of book is this? Why is it so hugely popular? Because it’s a ‘bad’ book? Is that it?
I particularly don’t like Georgie. She’s selfish, crazy, and plain wild. Ugh, if I were a boy, I definitely would not want a girlfriend like her. Her boyfriend, Nate, must have been in anguish for not having the chance to spend some quality time with her because she’s always busy soaking in the hot tub with other boys!
This will be the first and last time I’m reading this book. Not recommended to those under 18.
Well, you’re going to get it anyway, so why bother?

Did you know “Pot” and “Weed” are the same thing? ‘Cause they are!
Why do you hate on all the girls? How come they are always the bad ones? Guys can be bad, too! The patriarchy is evil…and not like an evilsexy!vampyre.

I don’t hate ALL the girls. Did I mention that??? In fact, I don’t hate any girl. Not ALL the girls are bad, anyway, only a handful are and they can turn over a new leaf if they want to.
It’s just that in Gossip Girl, the girls are portrayed as wild, disrecpectful party animals and I don’t like it, that’s all.
Yeah, there are bad guys too but nobody’s perfect, isn’t it? Josette(Quote)

Personally I disagree completely. As a teenage girl I know what goes on in the lives of Blair, Serena and the others. Yes it may be a bit over done but they are millionares living in the city. Most teenagers will experiment with drugs, alcohol, tobacco etc. As for the writing, the books keep readers excited and drawn in. I have read most of the series and I love them. Don’t be so sensitive, the books aren’t to show role models, but to captivate readers and in my opinion it does just that. Rebe(Quote)

I think they like it cause’ its random. Everyone has different taste likewise you are not the one who likes to read the crazy things, read the 1st novel of gossip girl. I think you’ll find it mysterious afterwards. Jane(Quote)
